Jonas Mouton was selected by the chargers in the second round of the 2011 NFL draft and has not played a game for the chargers thus far. This is because he was injured all last year and so the 24 year old feels like an extra rookie for the chargers.He had a pretty good college career and appeared to be a tackling machine. In his final season at Michigan he had 117 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, 2 sacks and 2 interceptions. This guy could help plug up the middle and help the chargers out on run defence while Butler or Spikes take a rest.
This guy could have big upside and only time will tell if he turns into a full time starter. Either way it is a luxury for the chargers to effectively have two second rounders entering mini camp.
